I've spent the last week or so mulling carefully over all the suggested themes, asking myself which is the most inclusive and diverse, has the most poetic ring, presents the widest range of creative interpretations. Finally, this morning, I gave up and put them all into a hat, and out came "Seasons" - your theme for the Second International Infertility Film Festival, due to screen online from Saturday, July 28th, 2007 (suggested by Mel).
From the earliest days of our existance, seasons have had deep practical implications for life on Earth. They mark the passage of time, they mould our lives into patterns, they give rise to rituals and symbolism. Our language and culture is peppered with references - we talk about seasons of change, the springtime of love, the winter of our discontent. For everything, as the song goes, there is a season; a time for every purpose under heaven. Even in our modern world we respond to the heat and long days of summer, and the falling of the leaves as it ends.
It makes sense to use these powerful associations to explain the world of infertility. Remember to interpret the theme as literally or creatively as you like. Make us laugh, cry, pause, think. And have your post ready to go on the 28th of July, 2007.
**Where possible, please tag your film IInfertilityFF after uploading, and include this site's address in your notes, as well as a link from your blog post.

I am so in. Especially now that I've learned to add more colours to the colour palette on Microsoft Paint. Though I have to tell you, I renamed her. Infertile Myrtle didn't feel quite right. She's now Barbara Barren. And she is triangular as ever. Now I need to figure out a way to work in the seasons. So "seasons" is the theme, but not a particular season?
That's right, it's "Seasons" in general, although you can, of course, choose a particular season to focus on.

I expectt to attempt a submission for this 2nd festival and I expect to publicise this one better in the donor conception community but want to make sure the issues involved in DC mesh well with the premise of infertility themes.

We have a acronym issue on YouTube...it appears that IIFF is also used by the Indianapolis Film Festival...so their vids are popping up in your side bar sneak peaks ...
I also noticed from a quick google search that IIFF also stands for the International Islamic Finance Forum....I bet those researchers are confused when they find our videos....
Ok, this problem is going to crop up every time somewhere starting with "I" has an international film festival. I've adjusted the tag to "IInfertilityFF". Can't imagine running into too many problems there.
